Starship

SpaceX

The tallest and most powerful rocket ever built — fully reusable and designed for Mars.

Starship is SpaceX's two-stage, fully reusable super heavy-lift launch vehicle. Stainless-steel construction, 33 Raptor engines on the Super Heavy booster, and methane/LOX propellants give it a thrust roughly twice that of the Saturn V. The system has flown 11 integrated test flights as of late 2025, with progressive successes including booster catches at the launch tower using 'Mechazilla' chopstick arms. Long-term goals include lunar Artemis missions and crewed Mars transport.

Fun facts
The Super Heavy booster has 33 Raptor engines — producing about twice the thrust of the Saturn V.
The launch tower catches the 70-metre booster using mechanical arms nicknamed 'Mechazilla'.
Starship is built entirely from stainless steel — rare in the space industry where aluminium and composites dominate.
